Our Annual Summer Outing was Just Ducky

Every year V2Works celebrates summer and team camaraderie with the people who make great design happen every day: our talented team of Brandgineers! This year our team traded in their computers for Ducks, then flocked to downtown Seattle. The pleasure trip started with a loud, yet tasty lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, where we filled up on good food, refreshments, and lively conversation. After our appetites were satiated, we traversed the land and water of the city in a WWII amphibious landing craft — otherwise known as "Ride the Ducks of Seattle." Led by our Sea Captain, "Bob Frapples," the day continued its very loud theme with plenty of jokes, laughter, music, and fun. Here are a few highlights of the day. #Frapples! Client DirtFish Wins Gold in Detroit at 2015 Red Bull GRC Lites

Congratulations to our client, DirtFish, and their Motorsports team driver, Tanner Whitten, for bringing home the gold in Detroit at the 2015 Red Bull GRC Lites. Thanks to Whitten's consistent finishes throughout the first half of the season, and an overall points lead after the North Carolina race, the DirtFish team went into the race knowing they had a big orange target on their hatch. Even so, DirtFish proved to they are a force to be reckoned with this season. Keep up the great work.

Halloween at V2Works

This month, the V2Works Brandgineering team had a little fun with Halloween. Some entered their mini pumpkins for an internal decorating contest and some dressed up for the big day. All in all, a lot of good amusement at the office. Good thing our conference room has a secret stash of candy to make for easy trick-or-treating (all days of the year).

V2Works Celebrates Summer with a Kayak Excursion

For the V2Works annual summer adventure, the team slathered themselves in sun screen, donned life preservers (at least for the first 5 minutes) and set a heading up the Sammamish River Slough towards Redhook Brewery on kayaks and paddle boards. The sweltering day was definitely packed to the gunwales with laughter, sweat, splashing, and amusing absurdity as we paddled away any thoughts of the office and focused on the 10-mile round-trip excursion. Although most of us were a bit sore the next day, and a few of us were sporting sunburns and blisters, we would all definitely do it again. Here are just a few snapshots from the journey.   On our Way Up River Just getting started. Cameron kayaking, with Margaret paddle boarding in the background. [...]

Happy 4th of July!

The crew at V2Works wishes you a wonderful 4th of July and a summer filled with good times.   4th of July Fun Fact: The modern U.S. flag was designed by a high school student as part of a class project.  High school student Robert G. Heft of Lancaster, Ohio was assigned to create a new “national banner” for America that would recognize the statehood of Alaska and Hawaii. Heft simply added two extra stars to the flag to give it an even 50 and stitched his own design. His teacher only gave him a “B-minus” for his effort, so he sent his project to President Dwight D. Eisenhower for consideration and a change of grade. Eisenhower chose his design personally and the new flag was officially adopted in [...]

Massage Day at V2Works

As part of a thank you to our employees for such great work, V2Works brought in Rose Michaels, a LMP from Bainbridge Island, for another in-house Massage Day. This is Rose's third time to visit V2Works, and she spent 45 minutes with each employee, providing much needed physical and mental wellness to all. We all appreciated her trek over to spend the day with us, and look forward to another relaxing visit in the future. Stay tuned for our upcoming kayak adventure!

A V2Works Cookie Exchange, with Recipes!

Who doesn’t love a good cookie exchange? You make one type of cookie, and magically walk away with an awesome assortment of baked goodies! The annual V2Works Cookie Extravaganza Bonanza was a big hit this year, bringing out the inner baking masters in us all. Sure, there may have been one minor kitchen disaster involving defrosting butter in a hot oven, forgetting about it, and discovering a giant pool of rapidly browning butter pouring from the wrapper onto the oven floor… but that’s beside the point. When all was said and done, we arrived with a beautiful assortment of cookies to taste and trade. Give these recipes a try in your own kitchen, just don’t forget about the butter. Chocolate Cherry Almond Biscotti (via Paprika Red) 1 1/4 sticks of [...]
